Fun Times in 2007

We have enjoyed another great year. We love living in Utah and our new home. We had a great family trip to Disneyland in February, Darin and I went to Canada in July, We moved at the end of July, Had a great trip to Lake Powell in August, A fun Garrett Family reunion at Thanksgiving. Cami (10) is still playing soccer year round. She loves it. Makenna turned 8 this year and was baptized. She was so excited! Makenna is enjoying her Hip Hop classes and just had a recital. Brenden is in 7th grade. He turned 12 and received the Priesthood this year. He is a great kid! He enjoys his percussion class and his friends. Lots to explore around the new house. Lecia (15) is doing great in school, enjoying young womens and earning loads of money babysitting. We really have great kids that we enjoy so much! We are so grateful to have had may opportunities this year to enjoy great memories with many loved ones. We are so blessed to have such an awesome family, friends and loved ones. We are grateful for all the Lord has blessed us with and look forward to a wonderful 2008!

Christmas in Utah

Our new house is great in the winter. No need to go elsewhere to sled, we have a built in sledding hill in our yard. The kids love being able to head out anytime to enjoy the "slopes". Only problem is the steep driveway that goes along with it. Marc and Jenn's family come join us for the fun also! We are looking forward to our first Christmas in our new home. Who knows, we may even have a white Christmas this year!

Haircuts

Right before school started Lecia said that she wanted a haircut. I assumed it would be the traditional trim. Little did I know what she had in store! She wanted to donate her hair and cut it short. What a surprise after years of long hair and pony tails. She loves her new look and has fun straightening it or wearing it with her natural wave! The only thing I don't like is that she looks all grown up.

Not to be outdone, Makenna decided to cut off some of her locks and get bangs. She was motivated by her cousins' cute styles. She like the versatilty of her new hairdo also!

Biking and Fishing in Canada

In July, Darin and I went to Canada. We enjoyed a couple days in Whistler and then went to Vancouver Island to do some fishing. It was great! Darin and his friend, Cougar, had a great time biking! It was an amazing place that really caters to bike riders of all abilities (especially the crazy, hard core type.) The biking trails were amazing. So much fun on the hill and around town. This picture shows one of the crazy things Darin rode over! Hillary and I went for some great hikes and loved the area. Then we went to a little town called Tofino to fish. We had a private guide for two 1/2 days of fishing. The salmon fishing was awesome! We caught some beautiful fish! Delicious too! We tried to fish for halibut also, but the seas were pretty rough, so we opted for more salmon after suffering on the open sea for a time. Beautiful place! We will definitely return to Canada again!

New House

We moved! The last week of July we moved up the hill from our old house. We have some great views and love it! The house is just what we wanted and we love the area. We are all adjusting to the changes: not having any neighbors, riding uphill all the way home from school, being in a new ward, and the cat not wanting to move with us(We bring him up here everyday, and he always goes back to the old house. We asked the new residents if they want him, but they are allergic, so we keep trying to get him to stay here!). We all love the views and easy access to hiking/biking trails out our back door. Come see us anytime! Our home phone # is the same.

Our new address is: 7328 N. Point Lookout Dr., Eagle Mountain, UT 84005

Back to School

It's that time of year again! The kids are back in school and things are supposed to slow down. At least that's what I hear, but not in this house. Lecia is in 9th grade and loving it. She is excited about Seminary, dances and all the great stuff a 15 year old gets to do. Yes, She will be 15 in 2 weeks. Wow! Brenden is in Jr. High and likes it. It is busy with all the new classes, piano and percussion practice, but good. Cami loves 5th grade and all the adventures waiting for her there. She has a great teacher and lots of friends in her class. Makenna is in 3rd grade. She likes going to school and, as always, playing with friends. They are all great kids!

As if school weren't enough to keep us busy, we throw in 3 kids in soccer too. Cami plays in Alpine with a great group of girls. Brenden and Makenna play here in Eagle Mountain. They all love it. I love the great exercise and seeing them learn and try hard. All their teams are doing very well
